SCHOLARSHIPS The following are scholarship application descriptions with links: 2024 Scholarship Season Accepting Applications ~ February 1 - April 1 $1,000.00 Scholarship Awards Xi Tau Omega Chapter was chartered July 16, 1983, in Grandview, Missouri. For close to 41 years, our chapter has proudly served the Greater Kansas City community. One of our major focuses is to promote and support youth development and leadership through helping families access resources and services they may need. We are committed to bringing our time and talents to help youth build good character and citizenship for overall success. 2024 High Scholastic Achievement Scholarship - The High Scholastic Achievement Scholarship was established in 1993 to assist graduating high school seniors with financing their first year of college. This scholarship is for high school seniors who personify commitment, integrity, and kindness. The successful applicant should demonstrate community involvement and leadership skills.
2024 Janice L. Perkins Undergraduate Scholarship - Janice L. Perkins was a distinguished graduate of the University of Central Missouri (UCM). She demonstrated community advocacy, leadership, teamwork and organizational networking. Janice L. Perkins was a charter member of Xi Tau Omega Chapter and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for over 25 years. This scholarship is designed for college students who graduated from a Kansas City metropolitan area high school and are currently enrolled in a four-year institution.
2024 Frenchye C. Taylor HBCU Undergraduate Scholarship - Frenchye C. Taylor is a distinguished graduate of Lincoln University, a HBCU. She majored in home economics and later became a certified teacher of adult basic education. She taught students for over 20 years in the Kansas City Public Schools, the Salvation Army, and the Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Her efforts focused on preparing students to pass the GED examination for better employment and educational opportunities. Ms. Taylor is a member of Xi Tau Omega Chapter and has the designation of being a Pearl Sorority Member, over 65 years of service. Frenchye C. Taylor epitomizes commitment to lifelong learning and community volunteerism. This scholarship is designed for college students who graduated from a Kansas City metropolitan area high school and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a HBCU.
