Mental Health Awareness Community Event - Partnership with Area AKA Chapters and Pi Xi Chapter
Committee Meeting Nights are scheduled on the First Tuesday and Third Thursday of January- May & September-December from 6 pm to 8pm (cst) via zoom.
The forum is hosted by National Congress of Black Women-KC in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha-Xi Tau Omega Chapter. The event is free. Registration is required. There is a service component to the event. Donation of Black Hair Care Products to support women and girls in area shelters. The purpose the forum is to engage Black Women in the conversation about issues that matter the most to them and their families, hear from elected officials and advocacy leaders on local and national black issues to be addressed by the new administration, answer questions and help set an agenda for attendees to take back to their communities. Lastly, a call to action and next steps in maintaining active engagement this election year. Voter registration will be available onsite. The forum will provide representation from both Missouri and Kansas and will be moderated. We will have 4-5 elected officials and no more than 3 advocacy and civic leaders as speakers. 5:30pm-6:00pm is networking and refreshments. Forum is from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
Chapter meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month from September to June at the KCMO PD Headquarters located at 1125 Locust St, Kansas City, MO 64106 and begin at 10:00am, except where noted on the calendar.
